JPG is the king of lossy compression – tiny files, but you'll see artefacts. WebP is the modern replacement: 30% smaller with the same quality, and it supports transparency.

PNG is lossless and sharp, perfect for graphics with sharp edges. SVG is vector – scales infinitely, ideal for responsive websites.

GIF supports 256 colours and frame animation. Quality is limited, but compatibility is universal. For high‑quality animations, consider MP4/WebM video.

❓ Q1: How compatible is WebP?

WebP was introduced by Google and is now supported by all modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari 14+). Safari below 14 needs an update. According to Can I Use, global coverage exceeds 95%. If you need to support very old browsers, provide JPG/PNG fallbacks.

❓ Q2: Can you convert SVG (vector)?

Yes! The tool supports SVG → PNG/JPEG/WebP rasterisation. We draw the SVG on a canvas and export as a bitmap. Remember that SVG is infinitely scalable; after conversion you'll get a fixed‑size image – set your desired dimensions first.

❓ Q3: Why is my PNG larger than the original?

This usually happens when converting JPG → PNG. JPG is lossy and small; PNG is lossless and therefore larger. If you don't need transparency, stick to JPG or convert to WebP (which is why WebP is our default recommendation).

❓ Q4: Do you support HEIC/AVIF?

Not yet – browser native support for HEIC (Apple's default) and AVIF is limited. We recommend converting HEIC to JPG/PNG first (e.g., with iCloud or another tool) and then using this converter. AVIF support is planned for a future release.

❓ Q5: Why do I need a ZIP for batch download?

Browsers cannot download multiple files at once. That's why batch downloads are packaged as a ZIP archive. We plan to integrate the JSZip library soon. For now, you can download each converted image individually.

❓ Q6: Will my images be leaked?

Absolutely not. This is a static page – all image processing code runs in your browser. Open Chrome DevTools → Network tab while uploading; you'll see no network requests. Your images never touch ng.cc servers, safe for commercial projects and unreleased designs.
